@mindlessfluff - a true lottery win!
Queen Geek asked me yesterday (via the comments) to research how we can both hit the lottery. I wish I knew how to pick the winning numbers, but I am just not lucky in that way.
I am not lucky in many ways. I don’t win prizes from contests. I don’t win many door prizes. I’m not the best, or the prettiest, or the most talented. Some would say, I got a rough hand in life.
I try instead to focus on the areas where I was lucky. I got into the college I wanted to – and it changed my life. I met and married my first true love. 25 plus years later, we may drive each other crazy… but we are still together and still love each other.
I am lucky enough to know what my talents and skills are. I can find you what you need. I am naturally enthusiastic and passionate. I can explain things in ways that almost anyone can understand. I take some awesome photos – they may not always make it out of the camera right away, but I took them and know they show what I wanted them to show.
I am lucky in friend picking. I am still friends with my best friends from college. I have a network of friends around the US and around the world. (Chances are, if you are reading this, you are in that group.) I have re-united with friends from high school thanks to my social media passions.
I am lucky in my choice of mentors – Ms. Betsy Weber, for example.
I may not be the healthiest person in the world, but I am healthy enough. After all, I am still here!
And finally, I am lucky enough to know just how lucky I am. And in today’s world, that’s saying something!

Kathy,
You are most very wise. I don’t put a lot of stock into luck. But i do appreciate it when people realize their true potential. It seems that you have a lot more figured out than most. The lottery mentality will keep people broke⦠even if they do win. You are already a winner.
Keep the goodness coming!

As I read this, I was smiling the entire time. Yes, I would say that you have the lottery that really matters. As much as additional money would be nice so I could retire yesterday, I am truly blessed for the things in my life and I don’t mean my gadgets. My wealth is found in friends and family. I don’t have a lot of friends but those that I have, I know I can call in the middle of the night and I know they’ll be there. It sounds like you have the same.
BTW, I love the pic and I’m looking forward to some more recipes for cast iron skillets!!
